LO3: Audio (D)

Set design (Play Expo):

When editing the footage, we quickly realised that the some of the interviews had audio that was quite hard to hear due to the background noise. We attempted to correct this problem by firstly using the audio effects in Final Cut Pro, which was the software I was using to edit. Doing this made the audio partially better, but the audio was still lacking clearness. We then put the audio into Adobe Audition, this made the audio a lot clearer and easier to hear. The audio effects I added were denoiser and decrackler.

The digetic sound was put into Adobe Audition, an effect called 'hiss reduction' was added to the sound to make interviews seem more professional.
Non digetic sound was added in the form of a soundtrack, this was specially chosen to match the games corner as the music has a techno vibe and a high tempo which relates to the audience of younger people.

The music used in the piece is from Kevin McLeod:

Review section:

We are changing the audio from mono to stereo. This was done because we recorded the audio on the boom mic and that only records in mono so we had to change it in post. We also reduced a buzzing nose in the back ground so it could not be heard in the final product.

Outcomes

I am going to finish the edit, complete the edit logs and make sure my paper work is up to date.
